SPEED and hardcore are two words that have become synonymous on a global scale. The Sydney, Australia based band have staked claim on the genre through an unwavering ethos built on inclusivity, authenticity and conviction; a chaotic live show that tours nonstop across the globe, and records that have reverberated through the underground and beyond.Having built a healthy buzz within Sydney since 2019, their GANG CALLED SPEED EP took them international in 2022, spearheaded by the rousing single ‘Not That Nice’. Their debut album ONLY ONE MODE dropped in 2024 and further intensified their heavy-handed take on hardcore, debuting at #1 on the Australian ARIA album charts and winning the ARIA Award for ‘Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Release’; also gaining praise from publications like The Fader, Complex and Kerrang.SPEED then upscaled their relentless global touring schedule, playing dozens of headline shows in the United States, UK, Europe and Asia; also sharing the stage with heavyweights like Turnstile, Madball, Knocked Loose and Gorilla Biscuits. In 2025, they became the first Australian hardcore band in history to perform at the flagship Coachella festival, later winning the triple j award for ‘Best Australian Live Act’. They also won the inaugural NSW Music Prize in 2025, using the prize money to kickstart DYNASTY OF STYLE - a series of free All Ages hardcore shows in their hometown, featuring bands from all around Australia. In 2026, SPEED toured extensively across Latin America, New Zealand and parts of South-East Asia for the first time; as well as playing flagship festivals like Reading & Leeds Festival and Sick New World. SPEED is now preparing for the release of their sophomore album in the near future.
